It’s always awesome when my job takes me to the coast, especially when the weather behaves itself as beautifully as it did for Brittni and Sam’s Vancouver Brockhouse wedding. The absolute cherry on the cake though was the amount of care and detail Brittni and Sam put into the day, meaning every second felt like it was optimised effortlessly – and considering the location, it made sense to make sure there was time to take advantage of it all. Brock House Restaurant is nestled away at Jericho Beach and matches jaw-dropping mountain and ocean scenery with the kind of super cool historic charm that only a heritage mansion can bring. Between the building itself, the waterfront, and the surrounding gardens, we were completely spoiled for choice (and that was before Brittni’s idea of ensuring we’d have extra time for a sunset shoot!)

It’s that kind of generosity and consideration of time that can really help you get some fantastic stuff, and the same can be said for Brittni and Sam relationship itself! From their first date at the Cactus Club in Coquitlam (try saying that ten times fast) they were finding time for each other, whether through chatting until close that first night or by sipping away at wine while cooking up a storm – new recipes and meal prep kits alike. Life might get busy, but I love hearing the ways that couples don’t take that as an excuse and instead make sure to invest time in a good time together.

And really, nothing could be truer for Brittni and Sam’s wedding – from details like the almost dreamlike elegance of their reception decor, to the laughter over shared shots and the touching thoughtfulness of a display remembering all those who couldn’t be with them on the day, Brittni and Sam struck me as a couple who were nailing that balance between planning your time and staying free to find the genuine moments of love and fun.

It’s not often that you hit the golden trifecta of amazing couple, stunning location, and the perfect amount of time to capture it all, so getting it all with Brittni and Sam’s for Vancouver Blockhouse Wedding was a dream, and I can’t thank them enough for not only treating that all-important resource of time with such care, but choosing to share some of it with me!
