I recently had the pleasure of doing a Grouse Mountain Chinese Pre-Wedding Shoot for Phoebe and Padraig. These two lovebirds picked the most gorgeous location for their photoshoot – the Cleveland Dam and Grouse Mountain. I mean, seriously, how could you go wrong with a backdrop like that? It was so cool to have the mix of forest and grass at the bottom of the mountain and then beautiful thick snow and sunset view only a few minutes away.

In case you’re unfamiliar, a Chinese pre-wedding shoot is a photoshoot that takes place before a couple’s wedding and is typically a part of Chinese wedding customs and may include elements such as red dresses and traditional Chinese attire. It is similar to an engagement shoot in that it is a photoshoot to celebrate the couple’s love and upcoming marriage. However, a Chinese pre-wedding shoot is often more elaborate and may involve multiple wardrobe changes and a variety of locations, whereas an engagement shoot is typically more low-key and may only involve one outfit and one location. I offer regular engagement sessions and packages specifically designed for pre-wedding shoots, which can be found here.

As I snapped away at Phoebe and Padraig, I gave them some direction to make sure we got a mix of candid and posed shots, and I made sure to capture every special moment. My goal was to make them feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera, and I think we achieved that – we were all constantly smiling and laughing throughout the shoot, even despite almost slipping many times. In the end, they left with a set of beautiful photographs that I hope they treasure for years to come. And really, what more could you ask for? So if you’re in need of a photographer for your prewedding photoshoot, don’t hesitate to give me a shout!
