It’s always beautiful to see a couple who started out as friends and witness everything their connection has created, and much like one of their work’s flat-packs, their relationship started out simple as co-workers and with some time and care became something, as Alisha put it, “a bit more serious”. And they both agreed getting to know each other first within the walls of IKEA meant that what followed came from a foundation of friendship and fun, something that everyone present at Burnaby Hart House felt and loved.
Hart House itself made for a gorgeously quaint and lusciously green backdrop, but my favourite addition (and a huge hit in general) was the hilarious IKEA photo set, complete with custom sign. Between that and the delicious ice cream, pie treats, and overflowing affection, Alisha and Rodney sure knew how to keep a crowd happy! Not to mention how to outshine an already completely stunning venue: the subtle elegance of Alisha’s dress from Bliss Bridal Kelowna tied in seamlessly with the charming intimacy of the whole day, and between that and getting to capture the moments of humour and sass between the happy couple, I couldn’t imagine a more perfectly suited, joyous time.
It was a total delight photographing Alisha and Rodney’s wedding at Burnaby Hart House, and I know that – where other couple’s might get lost in the IKEA maze – they’ll find their way and continue to build something incredible!
