If you had to describe Danielle and Ryan’s wedding, it would sum up in two words: Classically Elegant. Married on June 11th, the ceremony and reception was held at the Golden Eagle Golf Club.Despite the infamous Vancouver rain that seems to be targeting all summer weddings this year, Danielle and Ryan’s affair went smoothly, due in large part to the hard work and dedication from Lorae Brickwood and her staff at the Golden Eagle Golf Club. From the beginning of the day until the very last dance, they were on hand to provide any and all services to the wedding party and their honored guests. It was a thrill to be a part of such a gorgeous and timeless event.
When the ceremony began and the bridal music played, it came time for the Bride to walk down the aisle with her father. I photographed the moment when Ryan first saw Danielle coming. You could see his love, adoration and admiration shining through the tears, almost as if he could not behold her beauty. And she was gorgeous! It was intimate to watch them stand beside one another and pledge their love before God, their families and their friends, with the natural landscape you can only find in Vancouver. Although the rain began to pour during the ceremony, umbrellas were quickly produced and they carried on, delighted and devoted.
I had a lot of fun photographing the wedding party during the cocktail hour. Ryan and his groomsmen loved to joke around, and that resulted in some very humorous images; at one point they carried and flipped him up in the air. Truly, I enjoyed capturing the photos of just Danielle and Ryan, because you can feel the love between them, it comes out in every corner of the frame.
The most exciting part for me happened during the reception. Danielle and Ryan were taken by complete surprise when we presented them with a slideshow that same day of the photos taken earlier. It was really nice to be able to share and relive those moments. We had also set up a photo booth with props, and the guests really enjoyed putting on Canadian moose ears and feather boas, showing off their party and celebrating sides!
